‘Blue Rush’ Podcast Episode 130: Giants Still Control Own Destiny After Thrashing

nypost giants podcast

The Giants got their butts kicked on Sunday in their own building. The Eagles proved once again why they are the best team in the NFL right now.

The Giants showed that they don’t deserve to make the playoffs. But they are still in a playoff spot right now. They can still redeem themselves, despite not winning a game in a month.

They will need to right the ship next week against the Commanders.

To break down what happened in Sunday’s 48-22 loss, we bring you a new episode of the “Blue Rush” podcast with Lawrence Tynes, Paul Schwartz and Brandon London.

“Blue Rush” Podcast with Lawrence Tynes, Brandon London, Paul Schwartz & Jake Brown:

  • GIANTS GET CRUSHED: Eagles were just too good for the Giants. Eagles played like a team that knew a win would clinch a playoff spot. “We got our asses kicked,” was said a lot in the Giants locker room.
  • DEFENSIVE DISASTER: The defense has been terrible since the bye week. Without Xavier McKinney and Adoree’ Jackson, they are a disaster. They are giving up 30+ points a game. They are atrocious against the run. They badly need McKinney to be back next week.
  • PUNT GONE AWRY: Jamie Gillian has to catch the ball. He didn’t know the rule about punting the ball off the ground. Tynes does a demonstration of what “molding” the football means for a punter.
  • EVALUATING DANIEL JONES: Becoming difficult to evaluate him right now. He’s not playing bad, but they are not producing much on offense. Offensive line has not helped his case. They are getting almost nothing from the run game. Jones is an interesting topic every Sunday. He’s the only one it seems to show up every Sunday. Evan Neal is struggling at right tackle.
  • COMMANDERS NEXT: Giants have to put this game in the past and move on to a critical game against the Commanders. Tynes also rips Ndamukong Suh for tweeting after the game when he did not do anything. If they can win, they are in much better shape to potentially make the playoffs. If they can get a few players back on the defense, the crew feels confident they can win this game.
