Kayvon Thibodeaux was 100 percent right about that. The Giants rookie had the best game of his young career when the team needed it most Sunday night on the road against the Commanders. Twelve tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and recovery for a touchdown was the difference in the game. The Giants are now in a great position to make the playoffs.

- PRIME-TIME THIBODEAUX: He is built for primetime. He brings a much-needed swagger to this Giants defense. He will continue to ascend. He was the difference in winning and losing with the TD as well as stopping Taylor Heinicke at the 1-yard line to avoid a TD in the final minute. The strength of this team is the front four. The pass rush has to continue to show up. They had three huge sacks Sunday, which was their path to victory.
- SPECIAL TEAMS/O-LINE: Jamie Gillan had a great game punting. Graham Gano made a big 50-yard field goal. Nick Gates is a center and should not be playing guard. The Giants were better with Ben Bredeson at left guard. The offensive line blocked better in the second half for Saquon Barkley after not doing much in the first half. Evan Neal will get better as he develops confidence.
- PLAYOFFS: Will Big Blue make the playoffs? What do they need to do in the final three games of the season? The Colts game does not look like a shoe-in victory. They got a chance against the Vikings on Saturday. They will need to get Adoree’ Jackson and Xavier McKinney back in the coming weeks.
