Billions of dollars have been spent so far in MLB free agency. Teams like the Mets and Phillies have not been shy about spending big bucks to get better, committing around $800 million thus far this offseason. One team in the NL East that won a championship in 2021, however, has spent less than $2 million. That’s the Atlanta Braves.

- METS/YANKEES/RED SOX FREE AGENCY: Love what the Mets added to the pitching staff. Steve Cohen took Jon into the Carlos Correa negotiation. Yankees are still looking for another outfielder. Red Sox have had a puzzling free agency.

- OFFSEASON: Most of roster had been set already with long-term deals, so they did not need to spend a ton. They have spent less than $2 million thus far in free agency.
- DANSBY SWANSON: He’s a tremendous player. Not the right time to get into specifics on it. They have to work with what they have. They have avoided putting too much of the payroll into one or two players.
- BARGAINS: Getting key players for good prices. They did not wanna be overly top heavy. Winning has played a key part in players wanting to sign there.
- NL EAST: The Mets and Phillies got better. It’s going to be an exciting challenge for years to come. NL East is a bigger challenge than AL East was when he was in Toronto.
