The roommate of an MS-13 gangster accused of slaughtering an Uber Eats driver last week recalled how he saw blood and heard “disturbing noises” after the driver was butchered in the middle of the night, documents reveal.
According to a police affidavit, the man heard a “loud noise” coming from Oscar Solis’ bedroom at about 2:15 a.m. and noticed a “red substance” near the home’s internet router earlier in the evening.
Spooked by the sounds and the possible bloodstain, he packed up his belongings and fled to a hotel with his wife and kid at 8 a.m. April 20.
Police would eventually discover the dismembered remains of Randall Cooke, 59, in two separate garbage bags that had been placed at the side of Solis’ Holiday, Florida, home.
Cooke was making his final scheduled delivery of the night last week when he suddenly stopped responding to his wife’s texts.
With help from Uber Eats, police were able to trace his last tracked location to Solis’ residence and later obtained camera footage from the roommate.
The video showed Cooke arriving at the home — and Solis and another man removing garbage bags from inside the residence the following day.
Solis — a paroled ex-con from Indiana and MS-13 gang member — was eventually arrested and charged with what Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco called a “demonic” murder.
Deputies discovered blood spatter around Solis’ bedroom and a nearby bathroom, along with Cooke’s remains and bloody clothing inside five trash bags.
One shirt had several puncture wounds in the upper torso area — suggesting that the hardworking deliveryman had been stabbed repeatedly.
Cooke’s car was located roughly three miles from the home and had a bag stuffed with blood-soaked rags and paper towels inside, documents show.
Solis, who worked nights at a nearby strip club, moved to Florida in January after being paroled from an Indiana prison after serving time for assault.
Police said he “yanked” Cooke into the home and murdered him for no clear reason.
Solis moved to Florida to be near his father, who told police he arranged for him to live in the rental home.
Hoping to get his son back on his feet after the prison stint, the dad also hired a driver to ferry Solis to and from work.
The father, Oscar Solis Sr., also made the food order that would cost Cooke his life.
The delivery driver’s shattered wife, Kathy Cooke, described him as an honest and hardworking man who toiled to support her and her two children.
“I still have a voicemail on my phone from last Monday of just his voice and him telling me how much he loves me and how much he’s there for me,” Melany Szoba, Cooke’s stepdaughter, told Fox 35.
