‘Up In The Blue Seats’ Podcast Episode 124: Rangers Season Was A Colossal Failure

Rangers

The Rangers’ 2022-2023 season was a colossal failure.

Point. Blank. Period.

There is absolutely no other way around it.

The team went all-in at the trade deadline, putting together one of the best teams on paper in a long time.

The result?

A first-round exit to a younger, hungrier Devils team.

The Rangers looked like they didn’t belong on the ice in Game 5 or 7, where they were shutout 4-0 in both games.

It’s an utterly unacceptable performance from a team with Stanley Cup aspirations.

Someone is going to take the fall for it whether it is head coach Gerard Gallant or a roster shakeup.

We will find out soon.

To react to the Game 7 loss and the Rangers season coming to an abrupt end, we bring you a new episode of the “Up In The Blue Seats” podcast with Mollie Walker, Andrew Harts and I.

Up In The Blue Seats Podcast with Mollie Walker, Jake Brown & Andrew Harts:

  • COLOSSAL FAILURE: No other way around it, this team failed. They did not look like they belonged. They were outclassed and outmanned. Give credit to the Devils, who got an unbelievable performance from goalie Akira Schmid. The Rangers could not find the back of the net.
  • GALLANT’S FUTURE: Should Gerard Gallant be fired?
  • THE ROSTER: Who stays? Who goes? Will there be a big trade? Any chance they can bring back Patrick Kane and/or Vladimir Tarasenko?
