A team of researchers alleged analyzed data from nearly 90 nations to uncover which country’s men have the largest average erect penis size.
The study, published by World Data, claimed that Ecuadoran males are the world’s most well-endowed, tipping the tape measure at an impressive 6.93 inches. [Update: This report went viral in June 2023. The data has since been traced to a 2022 blog post containing a 2020 list based on questionable sources. There is no one confirmed way to rank penis size by country.]
“No other topic on this website has been asked for more often than the average size of male genitalia,” a World Data author stated, explaining that the sites’ team trawled through studies stretching back to 2001 to produce their comprehensive list.
Unfortunately, the US simply didn’t measure up in the wang war, coming in way down the list in 60th place.
The average erect penis size for an American man is 5.35 inches, per the survey.
American males were bested by their northern neighbors, with Canada clocking in at 13th place. Canuck males measure an impressive average of 6.19 inches when fully aroused.
Meanwhile, Mexican men’s members are also larger on average than those in the US. A male in that country has an average erect penis size of 5.87 inches, according to the data.
However, it isn’t all bad news for Americans, who beat their two main adversaries in the biological battle.
Chinese men measure 5.15 inches, while Russian dudes do only slightly better at 5.2 inches.
Meanwhile, Cambodia came in last of the surveyed countries, with their male citizens sporting 3.95-inch erections on average.
Interestingly, the researchers found no correlation between height and penis size — debunking the old myth that taller guys usually boast bigger members.
While Ecuadoran men have the largest erect penises, the average male in that country is relatively short, standing at just 5-foot-5.
On the other hand, Irish men are a relatively strapping 5-foot-10 on average, but clocked in 71st place in the size study, with the average erection measuring 5.03 inches.
While some American men may be disappointed about the results of the survey, a big penis isn’t necessarily all it’s touted to be.
Earlier this year, scientists revealed that the average penis size has grown over the past 30 years — but it could be due to unhealthy habits, such as binging junk food and being mostly sedentary.
“Any overall change in development is concerning because our reproductive system is one of the most important pieces of human biology,” Dr. Michael Eisenberg, the study’s author, told Stanford Medicine’s blog Scope. “If we’re seeing this fast of a change, it means that something powerful is happening to our bodies.”
