Weird But True

I can taste different foods at the same time with my ‘two’ tongues

She gets her licks in — sometimes two at one time.

What the fork? A Nevada body modification addict with “two tongues” blew social media users’ minds after revealing that she can taste two different foods simultaneously, as seen in a TikTok video with 24 million views.

“I tried [it] right when it healed,” Las Vegas resident Kierstyn Milligan, who goes by Orylan, told Jam Press of taking her viperine lollipop licker for a test drive.

The tattoo artist has reportedly dropped over $43,000 on body modifications, which include fang and breast implants, a Harley Quinn-esque array of tattoos all over her body, including her eyeballs, and piercings in both nostrils, her nose bridge and her nipples.

For her latest aesthetic enhancement, the OnlyFans model got her tongue sliced in half, so it’s now forked like a Komodo dragon’s.

“I’ve had my tongue split for about two years now,” said Milligan. “It cost only $700 and the process is numbing it with lidocaine and slicing it open, then sewing it back up on each side.”

This mod, which she described as her most painful to date, is more than just cosmetic: She claims her bifurcated flavor detector allows her to taste two different things in tandem, which she found out after trying Coke and Sprite at once — a flavor combination that “confused” her.

Her latest taste test? Two differently-flavored sour jelly packets.

In the aforementioned clip, Milligan can be seen squeezing the packets of the puckery liquid — one strawberry and one green apple — on either side of her tongue, before commenting that “they do not taste too different.”

In the future, the tattoo trustee said she hopes to “try pizza and donuts, or maybe some weird salty-sweet combos.” Interestingly, some experts have linked a fissured licker to a loss, rather than an uptick in tasting abilities.

It’s unclear if she can get to the center of a tootsie pop in half the time.

Needless to say, the TikTok commentariat was none too thrilled over Milligan’s culinary multitasking talents.

“I’m an atheist but you need God right now,” scoffed one while another critic wrote, “This is sad ngl [not gong to lie].”

“God plz [please] pray for this girl she has to tongues and an eye tattoo,” said another.

“[You’re] not interesting or cool,” critiqued a fourth.

However, Milligan said she’s used to haters, who have criticized her ever since she started modifying her body.

“When some people see my eyes they stare and point and say nothing, others give me ugly looks, and some will straight up get in my face and say they hate it,” she declared. “The craziest reactions are from people online hiding behind a screen.”

The tat addict added, “They love to say, ‘you look like a demon’ or ‘you were so much prettier before,’ or ‘you must not have had a good childhood.’ “

However, Milligan, who reportedly wanted to look like this since she was a child, doesn’t regret embellishing her body.

“The way I looked before compared to now, I feel so much happier,” she said. “Before I had no self-love or even understood who I was, now I feel I understand myself the most and have the most self-love and confidence.”

Ultimately, Milligan advises others to do what makes them happy when it comes to their bodies.

“The only advice I can really give to anyone wanting to modify or tattoo themselves is: do it out of love, do it out of the fact that it will make you happy,” she said. “We should only do things that bring us joy, for me that’s what modifying myself does, so I want that for others if that’s what they chose, nothing but love and happiness.”

Of course, prospective body modders should also know the inherent risks of such operations, especially tongue splitting.

According to Healthline, the organ’s dense network of nerves and muscles can easily be damaged during such a procedure, potentially resulting in possibly fatal complications such as bleeding and infection.

In fact, the operation’s considered so risky that the American Dental Association warns people not to go through with it.

“You should never try doing this procedure at home,” Healthline experts write. “If you feel strongly about having this procedure, absolutely make sure it’s done by a reputable professional with extensive experience.”

Despite the dangers, tongue splitting continues to be popular among body modification trustees, some of whom, like Milligan, enjoy demonstrating its supposed taste-enhancing prowess.

In 2022, California artist Brianna Mary Shihadeh, blew up on TikTok after using her double tongue to perform the Coke-Pepsi taste test.
