‘Naked’ bikinis taking over ‘sexy’ summer as hottest trend

Hot girl summer just got steamier thanks to the latest in naked fashion.

Must to the disgust of the modest dresser, fashionistas are gearing up for their poolside vacays with barely-there bikinis and sheer swimsuits, as seen on celebs from Kim Kardashian to Pink.

The ubiquitous naked dressing trend, which was popularized at New York Fashion Week last year, has worked its way through all elements of life.

For Gen Z GNO — girl’s night out for the uninitiated — women are taking “free the nipple” to new heights, fashioning lingerie as tops without any care for preventing wardrobe malfunctions. And why not, when their clothes, or lack thereof, are mesh anyway.

Meanwhile, modern brides are tying the knot in sultry, see-through gowns that have elicited outcry from traditionalists.

But the nearly nude trend is hitting an environment already associated with the scantily clad: the beach — which means close to nothing is left to the imagination.

Soaking up some rays earlier this month, Pink snapped a cheeky selfie that had fans going bananas. The singer posted a snap wearing an Adriana Degreas strapless mesh bikini top with only a bunch of embroidered bananas offering scant covering, scoring more than 841,000 likes on Instagram.

Kardashian, of course promoting her Skims swimwear line, let the waves wash over her stark white two-piece, making the drenched fabric nearly transparent.

But the SKKN founder, 42, is no stranger to baring it all online — after all, the reality TV star “broke the internet” when she posed for Paper Magazine while baring her infamous backside.

Model Irina Shayk proved the racy see-through swimwear trend could be effortlessly chic, making a show-stopping entrance at the Cannes Film Festival in May wearing a Gucci mesh triangle bikini covered by an essentially transparent black slip adorned with crystals.

But the next-to-nothing fad, spurred on by clothes that are only getting skimpier and sheerer, began at Miami Swim Week last year, which featured a slew of designers’ daring swimsuits. Namely, the Menz line debuted a number of bold pieces, including a fishnet micro thong bikini with transparent strings — the epitome of naked swimwear.

While the sheer style is not novel — lest we forget Kate Moss’ iconic ’93 slip — it’s certainly having its moment.

Even Kendall Jenner is in her naked era with her risqué dinner ‘fits and Met Gala after-party ensembles, while actress Florence Pugh has been known to free the nip, so to speak, on the red carpet.

For critics “offended” by her — or anyone’s, for that matter — nipples, the “Don’t Worry Darling” star has message.

“I’ve never been scared of what’s underneath the fabric,” Pugh, 26, told Vogue this year. “If I’m happy in it, then I’m gonna wear it. Of course, I don’t want to offend people, but I think my point is: How can my nipples offend you that much?”
