Trump accused of stiffing Miami café diners after promising to pay during post-court stop: report

Former President Donald Trump promised “food for everyone” at a famous Cuban restaurant in Miami following his federal arraignment on Tuesday, but left others to pay the bill.

Trump, 77, made an unexpected stop at Versailles Restaurant in Little Havana, pausing briefly for prayers, “Happy Birthday” wishes and some food for his staff, but was later accused by an anonymous source of stepping out before picking up the check, the left-wing Miami New Times reported.

“Food for everyone,” the current GOP frontrunner shouted to the Republican-friendly crowd when he entered the eatery, a mainstay of Miami’s Cuban exile community.

“President Trump was very enthused and very appreciative to the family at Versailles Restaurant for welcoming him this week,” a Trump spokesperson told The Post Thursday. “At the end of President Trump’s visit he offered to buy food for the group of attendees inside the restaurant, but when President Trump left, the attendees followed him outside and did not place orders themselves.”

“Campaign advance team members paid for the to-go meals purchased, and there were no unpaid tabs. President Trump looks forward to returning soon!” the spokesperson added.

A Versailles manager could not be reached for comment.

Senior adviser Jason Miller posted a picture on Twitter showing that the campaign team left with food of their own, saying, “Takeout, Versailles edition!”

Trump did not eat any of the Cuban delights himself, but feasted on McDonald’s later in his plane, The New York Times reported.

Former MMA fighter Jorge Masvidal announced “everybody’s favorite president of all time” had come as he embraced Trump, and the Versailles patrons broke out into a rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

“Some birthday …  we have a government that’s out of control,” Trump groused in response.

The former president, who turned 77 on Wednesday, also paused for prayers with a pastor and rabbi.

“President Trump visits Café Versailles and is greeted by supporters and the Hispanic community as they prayed with him. They all know this is a witch-hunt!” Trump spokesman Steven Cheung tweeted

“Thank you Miami,” Trump posted on his Truth Social account as he left Little Havana. “Such a warm welcome on such a SAD DAY for our Country!”

The 45th president was arraigned earlier in the day on 37 counts at Miami federal court for his alleged mishandling of classified documents after leaving the White House. He pleaded not guilty to all charges.

The café appearance was Trump’s only public outing before heading north to his golf club in New Jersey, where he received another warm welcome from supporters and delivered a speech denouncing his “political persecution” at the hands of Special Counsel Jack Smith.

“They ought to drop this case immediately, because they’re destroying the country,” the 45th president said during a half-hour address.
