Pennsylvania woman busted for shooting local district attorney in his office

A Pennsylvania woman allegedly went to the office of a district attorney in a rural Keystone State county and shot him in the leg, cops said.

Porice Diamond Mincy, 31, of Emporium, was taken into custody and charged with assault after she allegedly shot Cameron County District Attorney Malizia Paul Malizia, the Pennsylvania State Police announced Thursday.

Mincy fled the scene in a vehicle, but the official statement did not include more details about when or how she was apprehended.

Malizia has since been released from hospital and is in stable condition, the police said.

Authorities did not disclose a possible motive for the shooting but said they believe it was an “isolated incident” and that there is no further threat to the community.

Malizia thanked his supporters for their concern in a social media update on Wednesday night.

“My family and I thank you for your concern regarding today’s most unfortunate events,” he wrote.

“I am well and will continue to serve as Cameron County’s District Attorney.”

As of Thursday, Mincy remains in jail.
