“Hard Knocks” with the Jets is truly must-see TV. HBO or Max, or whatever you want to call it, they knew what it doing when choosing the Jets for this.

Aaron Rodgers was the star of the show for the first episode. You start with the hits and he is a Hollywood star. There are so many intriguing storylines with this Jets team and he is atop the list. The Jets are coming into the 2023 season with high expectations, something they have not been used to in the past decade. This is a team trying to end a dozen-year long playoff drought.

To dissect everything on the debut of “Hard Knocks” with the Jets as well as “One Jets Drive”, we bring you a special episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast. I was joined by guest co-host Jake Asman from “The Jake Asman Show” on YouTube and ESPN Radio New York 98.7FM.

Gang’s All Here Podcast with Jake Brown & guest co-host Jake Asman:

  • HOLLYWOOD RODGERS: The highlight of Episode 1 of “Hard Knocks” was clearly Rodgers. He came out to the field and was ready to be the star of the show. It was nothing but the hits to open up the show, which was the right move.
  • SALEH THE MOTIVATOR: The crow speech to open the episode was electric. The world is learning the kind of leader and coach Robert Saleh is.
  • RODGERS VS. SAUCE: The greatness between the two and their bond is special to watch. Rodgers at Hall of Fame weekend on the field saying “you’ll be here one day” to Sauce was cool. Both strive to be great with Rodgers a lock for Canton and Sauce looking like a player that can one day make it there if he plays the way he did his rookie season.
  • ZACH’S CONFIDENCE: Rodgers has been huge for Zach Wilson. The pressure is off Zach now and his role is important. If Rodgers gets hurt, Wilson will need to fill in and give the Jets the chance to win. Having Rodgers mentor him could be critical for Zach’s development.
  • WHAT TO WATCH FOR: The offensive line will be a key to watch the rest of training camp. Can Mekhi Becton stay healthy and win a starting job? Will Duane Brown stay on the field and get the left tackle spot? Who will be the starting linebackers?
