‘Gang’s All Here’ podcast episode 157: Jets’ improbable, first-ever win over Eagles

It’s time to start taking the Jets seriously if you weren’t already.

On Sunday, Robert Saleh’s team made a statement to the rest of the NFL: Don’t take us lightly.

The Jets beat the Eagles, 20-14, in Week 6. NY Post

The Jets shocked the world, beating the Eagles, 20-14, in the best win of the Saleh era.

Without four cornerbacks, including their top two Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed, the Jets’ defense stifled the defending NFC champion Eagles.

Gang Green shut out Jalen Hurts and Co. in the second half, and the defense forced four turnovers, including a Tony Adams interception in the final two minutes that set up the game-winning touchdown.

At 3-3 going into the bye, one can’t ask for much better after losing Aaron Rodgers minutes into the season.

To react to the improbable Jets win, we bring you a new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and I.

Gang’s All Here Podcast with Jake Brown & Brian Costello:

  • HAPPY VICTORY MONDAY: I opened the show with my monologue on the Jets’ statement victory. It was remarkable watching the Jets backups play such a vital role in the win. Was worried when Breece Hall scored quickly that the Eagles had too much time to drive down the field and go for the win, but the defense came up big again.
  • SALEH: Biggest win of the Saleh era. Green Bay game last year was close and so was the win over the Bills last year, but this one tops that. Saleh said after game they have “embarrassed” this gauntlet of QBs. Coz thinks that was a bit strong of a word to use, plus Dak Prescott beat them.
  • RED ZONE STRUGGLES: Zach Wilson played mistake-free, but has to be better in the red zone. The Jets have not scored in the red zone the past two weeks, outside of Hall’s TD run off the INT return in final two minutes. They need to get the ball in the end zone and stop ending up with just field goals.
  • RODGERS RETURN: Aaron Rodgers already on the field throwing Sunday. He had his own production crew following him around. Could he be back in December? If the games matter for the Jets, it’s looking more and more like he may try a comeback this year.
