‘Gang’s All Here’ Podcast Episode 158: Jets-Giants Preview feat. Brandon Marshall

nypost jets podcast giants game

It only happens once every four years.

The Jets take on the Giants.

And no, the preseason game does not count.

It counts this time.

And boy is it a big game for both teams.

For the Giants, a loss pretty much seals their already incredibly slim playoff hopes.

Falling to 2-6 with nine games to go means they would have to go 7-2 the rest of the way to get to 9-8 and maybe sneak in, but potentially need to go 8-1.

For the Jets, a win would get them to 4-3 and feeling pretty good about themselves in the playoff conversation.

A loss would erase a lot of the positive mojo they had with the upset over the Eagles before they went into their bye week.

Who wins the battle of the swamps? Do the Jets end Sunday’s game calling it Jetlife Stadium? To preview the big matchup, we bring you a new episode of the “Gang’s All Here” podcast with Brian Costello and me.

We are joined by a former Jets Pro Bowl wide receiver and one-time Giant, Brandon Marshall.

Gang’s All Here Podcast with Jake Brown & Brian Costello:

  • TRADE DEADLINE: Jets sent Mecole Hardman to the Chiefs. Coaches clearly did not like him here. Better off they trade him than keeping him around when they were not using him. Will the Jets trade Carl Lawson? Who could the Jets go after before the deadline Tuesday?
  • INJURY REPORT: Looks like Sauce Gardner and DJ Reed should be back on Sunday. Duane Brown won’t practice until next week at the earliest. Looking like Joe Tippmann won’t play Sunday.
  • JETS-GIANTS PREVIEW: Giants coming in banged up, but coming off a victory. This won’t be a cakewalk. Giants have been competitive past few weeks and Tyrod Taylor can throw the ball down the field. This could be a huge game for the Jets defense sacking the QB against a banged up Giants offensive line. Coz has the Jets 23-17. I got the Jets 23-13.

Brandon Marshall Interview:
Former Jets Pro Bowl WR , “I Am Athlete” Podcast founder, host

  • JETS VS. GIANTS: Marshall compares playing for the Jets to playing for the Giants and how the Giants was more buttoned up, calling it “private school vs. public school.”
  • GARRETT WILSON: Has a chance to go down as the best receiver in Jets history. Probably will break his own single-season WR records one day. Loves his mindset.
  • ZACH WILSON: Has seen enough improvement where he can help the team win. He has been lucky the Jets have been patient with him. Wants to see more flair and moxy in him. Needs to see more confidence, especially as a QB in NYC.
  • ROBERT SALEH: Likes that he’s a man’s man and a physical presence. Players will play for that kind of coach. He leads by example.
  • PLAYOFFS: The Jets absolutely can make the playoffs. Zach is finding his identity and progressing and this defense is great.
