Rob Thomson joined “The Show” this week. NY Post

The Mets went with Carlos Mendoza as manager.

The Cubs shocked us all and got Craig Counsell.

Oh yeah … and Brian Cashman went on a rant Tuesday.

To react to the viral back and forth with our own Joel Sherman, why not have Joel talk about it.

Joel and Jon Heyman react to a busy week in baseball on a new episode of “The Show” podcast.

Phillies manager Rob Thomson also joins the guys to discuss their NLCS ending, what his former Yankees coach-mate Mendoza brings to the Mets and the Phillies’ offseason ahead.

‘The Show’ Podcast with Joel Sherman & Jon Heyman:

  • CASHMAN/STEINBRENNER: The guys react to their controversial press conferences Tuesday. Joel doesn’t think they are self-critical enough with their mistakes. He addresses his back and forth with Cashman that went viral.
  • MENDOZA TO METS: More about the players on the field for David Stearns. They probably should have went with someone with more experience.

Rob Thomson Interview: Phillies manager

  • SEASON ENDING: The loss still stings in the NLCS. Ebbs and flows on offense.
  • AARON NOLA: Doesn’t know where negotiations are at. Relies heavily on him and was great down the stretch and in playoffs.
  • MONEY: Happy with where he’s at making money. Happy for Counsell getting paid.
  • MENDOZA: Baseball knowledge is off the charts. He is going to be a star. He’s humble.
  • PLAYER DEVELOPMENT: Alec Bohm’s development at big league level better than anyone he’s ever seen. Key is to give them confidence and having scheduled days off.
  • NEW RULES: Would adjust pitch clock to 20 seconds for every pitch.
