Eleven quarters without a touchdown.
The Jets offense is reaching historic levels of ineptitude following another failure in a 16-12 loss to the Raiders on “Sunday Night Football.”
The players are not executed. They are committing dumb penalties.
The coaching staff from head coach Robert Saleh to offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett has been terrible.
Zach Wilson continues to turn the ball over in the big spot and not make enough plays to overcome their deficiencies.
General manager Joe Douglas did not do a good enough job in putting together a roster on offense to win and he didn’t make the team any better at the trade deadline.
Across the board, it’s a terrible offensive product. But Hackett isn’t going anywhere because that’s Aaron Rodgers guy for next season.
Saleh could be the odd man out if this downward spiral continues. The Jets are wasting an elite defense and it’s painful to watch their offense.
While Sunday’s loss doesn’t entirely fall on Zach Wilson, this team cannot score with him at quarterback. It’s a futile offense. Tim Boyle might not be any better, but it’s time to make a change before the already slim playoff hopes become an impossibility. You’ll never know what another quarterback can come in and do with this offense if you don’t give it a try.
And while Saleh wants to call it “lazy” to put blame on the quarterback, we can call it “lazy” to keep trotting the same product out every week without making adjustments.
Fans are sick and tired of wasted seasons. There won’t be a Rodgers return in December if the team is 4-7 or 4-8. They are hoping to be in a decent enough spot for him to return and lead a miraculous run, but there’s nothing being done to do that. This is shaping up now to be another sub-.500, non-playoff season and lots of questions to be answered yet again this offseason.
