Olivia Culpo buys Christian McCaffrey’s mom a Super Bowl suite after price drama

Christian McCaffrey’s mom got her wish.

Lisa Mccaffrey will seemingly be watching her son, the 49ers’ standout running back, play in the Super Bowl against the Chiefs in person from a suite at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

She had previously announced on her and Ashley Adamson’s “Your Mom” Podcast that prices for suites at Super Bowl 2024 were too expensive — even for her star son and model fiancée Olivia Culpo — and that she wouldn’t be attending.

Suites for Super bowl 2024 currently range from $800,000 to $2 million according to TickPick, an online marketplace for event tickets.

But Culpo later revealed a twist to the story.

“Fake news!” Culpo, a Sports Illustrated model and actress, wrote in an Instagram story on Friday, tagging Lisa’s account as well.

“Happy birthday Lisa I bought you a suite.”

Culpo also tagged Confirmed360, an entertainment concierge that provides access to sports and entertainment events and claims it is a “direct source for exclusive access and the solution to the complex booking process.”

She was responding to the company’s founder and CEO Matt Ampolsky, who had tagged Culpo with the caption “please correct them…,” underneath an image from ESPN showing Lisa’s original announcement.

“We looked into a suite and none of us can afford it,” Lisa had said. “Not even Christian, money bags over there — nor money bags Olivia.

“So, we’re not in a suite, I’ll tell you that right now.”

McCaffrey is in the midst of the four-year, $64 million deal he signed in 2020, and is set to earn $11.8 and $12 million the next two seasons, respectively.

It’s unclear how much Culpo earns, though she sports 5.4 million Instagram followers.

Lisa said that she and her husband Ed — who also played in the NFL as a receiver and won a Super Bowl with the 49ers — watched games in suites throughout this season.

She described her emotions celebrating with her son after the 49ers defeated the Lions in the NFC Championship game.

“I just ran to him,” Lisa said.

“The poor guy, I jumped on him and I hugged him. I said ‘I’m so proud of you.’ I didn’t even know what to say. I was just bawling.

“He was a little out of it. He said, ‘I’m just trying to soak this in.”

If the 49ers win again on Super Bowl Sunday, the two can celebrate together again.
