It’s a music showdown.
Drake and Kendrick Lamar’s ongoing feud escalated over the past few days as both rappers released new diss tracks aimed at one another.
On Friday, Lamar, 36, dropped the song “Meet the Grahams,” a direct reference to Drake’s real name, Aubrey Graham. In the song, Lamar calls Drake a “narcissist” and a “misogynist,” and also accuses him of secretly fathering a daughter.
Lamar released a second diss track, “Not Like Us,” on Saturday, where he claims Drake, 37, had sex with underage women.
“Say, Drake, I hear you like ’em young / Tryna strike a chord and it’s probably A minor / You better not ever go to cellblock 1 / Certified Lover Boy? Certified pedophiles,” Lamar sings.
Drake, who shares 6-year-old son Adonis with French artist Sophie Brussaux, responded to Lamar first by denying the secret daughter claim on his Instagram Stories Saturday.
“Nahhhh hold on can someone find my hidden daughter pls and send her to me,” the former “Degrassi: The Next Generation” star wrote.
Then, Drake released his own diss track, “The Heart Part 6,” which is a reference to Lamar’s 2022 track “The Heart Part 5.”
In the song, Drake alleges that he and his team planted fake stories for Lamar to use in his music amidst their drama.
“We plotted for a week and then we fed you the information / A daughter that’s 11 years old, I bet he takes it,” Drake raps.
He also directly denies having relations with minors by singing, “I never been with no-one underage / Just for clarity, I feel disgusted, I’m too respected.”
He then referenced 36-year-old Lamar’s fiancée, Whitney Alford, and “Stranger Things” star Millie Bobby Brown. “Only f – – kin’ with Whitneys, not Millie Bobby Browns,” he rapped. “I’d never look twice at no teenager.” (In October 2023, Drake slammed critics that questioned his friendship with Brown, now 20.) Lamar has two young children with Alford: Uzi and Enoch.
The rappers’ feud began in 2013, when Lamar featured on Big Sean’s song, “Control,” and sang that he wanted to “murder” several rappers — including Drake.
Two weeks after the song came out, Drake did an interview with Billboard and dismissed Lamar’s verse.
“It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That’s all it was. I know good and well that [Lamar]’s not murdering me, at all, in any platform,” Drake said.
However, the rappers continued their feud by trading subtle jabs at each other in their music over the next few years.
In October 2023, J. Cole featured on Drake’s album “For All The Dogs” and stated in the lyrics that he, Drake and Lamar were the “big three” of rap.
However, Lamar rejected J. Cole’s “big three” notion in “Like That,” his March 2024 collaboration with Future and Metro Boomin.
“It’s just big me,” Lamar declared in the song.
In April, Lamar released two more songs aimed at Drake: “Euphoria” and “6:16 in LA.” The first song seemingly references the HBO series that Drake produces, while the second song calls out Drake for his tracks that mention times and locations.
It’s truly a never-ending feud between Drake and Lamar. Drake took the latest shot with “The Heart Part 6.”
