Feds rip Hunter Biden over ‘stunt’ appeal ‘to delay’ California tax fraud trial

Federal prosecutors in first son Hunter Biden’s California tax fraud case have accused him of pulling “a stunt to delay his trial” by making a frivolous appeal, new court papers show.

President Biden’s son, 54, is attempting to appeal his lost bid to toss the case accusing him of failing to pay at least $1.4 million in federal income taxes for the years 2016 through 2019.

Prosecutors in special counsel David Weiss’ office said in papers filed in Los Angeles federal court Tuesday that the first son improperly filed the notice of appeal as a “stunt” in order to push back his June 20 trial date.

The younger Biden has “decided, unilaterally, that he can ignore the schedule set by the court,” the feds charge.

Even if the appeals court rules quickly to reject Biden’s appeal, “he will likely claim he needs more time to prepare” and ask to postpone the trial further, prosecutors allege.

“The court should reject the Defendant’s attempt to put himself above the law and game the system,” prosecutors wrote in asking a judge to force Biden to honor all pretrial deadlines.

On April 1, US District Judge Mark Scarci shot down Biden’s argument that the charges against him should be dismissed because he is a victim of “selective and vindictive” prosecution.

At the time, Biden’s lawyer Abbe Lowell blasted the “abnormal way the special counsel handled this investigation.”

Weiss’ office charged Biden in California after a plea deal in Delaware unexpectedly broke down last year.

Biden is charged with six misdemeanor and three felony counts in the tax case, in which prosecutors claim the first son blew money meant for Uncle Sam on an “extravagant” lifestyle — including “drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature, in short, everything but his taxes.”

The first son is separately charged in Delaware with three counts accusing him of illegally having a gun while he was addicted to drugs.

That case is slated to go to trial on June 3.

Biden’s lawyers didn’t immediately return a request for comment Wednesday morning.
