Son of Hamas founder lambastes activist journalist who once pushed 9/11 conspiracy over Israel-Hamas war

The disowned son of a Hamas co-founder slammed an activist journalist who once subscribed to 9/11 conspiracy theories as a “parrot” who repeats Hamas propaganda during a heated televised debate.

Former Hamas militant-turned-Israeli spy Mosab Hassan Yousef — the son of Sheikh Hassan Yousef — called out journalist Abby Martin‘s defense of the Palestinians on “Piers Morgan Uncensored” and mocked her experiences with them as superficial.

“She’s been there only for a visit and maybe she had some falafel sandwich,” said Yousef, 45. “She really was blown away of the Palestinian experience.”

Yousef, who turned against his father to leak Hamas intel to Israel for a decade, also described Martin as “a self-appointed, low-grade journalist” who was falling for the terror group’s alleged ploy to garner sympathy for Palestine, which he says doesn’t exist.

“It was never there,” he added. “It’s just a colonial entity, and some people choose to make it into a national identity, and this parrot has been just repeating Hamas propaganda.”

Yousef, who was given American citizenship for his work with Shin Bet, accused Martin of sowing chaos in the US and being a “criminal” just like Hamas.

He also attempted to brush aside Martin’s accusation that he believes “all Muslims are terrorists,” with Yousef reminding her that he’s been in the field working against those who target civilians, referencing Hamas’ Oct. 7 terrorist attack that left more than 1,200 people dead.

Martin, who once actively promoted the conspiracy theory that the 9/11 terrorist attack was an inside job, lashed back and reminded Yousef that he has a history of anti-Muslim rhetoric.

Back in March, the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations condemned Yousef for his remarks on social media in which he urged people to never trust Muslims, describing all the religion’s followers as “sheep” hiding their “tusks.”

When Martin called Yousef anti-Arab, he corrected her and touted himself as “anti-Islam.”

The heated debate between Martin and Yousef also saw a terse response when the activist journalist continued to insist that Israel should pull out of Gaza.

“There is no such thing as Palestine,” Yousef erupted. “It’s about time to retire, find a different job. You’re not a journalist.”
